Islamabad (Hayat News): With the application deadline approaching on May 20, the Prime Minister’s Youth Laptop Scheme has received an overwhelming response of thousands of pupils in only a few days.

Officials have confirmed that the website for the initiative has experienced a dramatic increase in traffic as a result of the thousands of students who have successfully submitted their applications.

Applications are now being accepted for PMLS Phase IV, which is part of the government’s initiative to support education and innovation.
The goal of the project is to provide students more agency by providing 100,000 computers to deserving students at public universities in Pakistan.
A just and merit-based selection process will be implemented, as the government has released the eligibility criteria for the laptop distribution scheme.

Students attending officially recognized public sector universities are entitled to apply, as stated in the criteria.
Students must fulfill certain academic standards and be enrolled in a PhD, MS/MPhil, bachelor’s, or master’s degree in order to be eligible.
All students, even first-years, are required to present their High School Graduation (HSSC) results, which must be at least 2.80 (or 60%).
The results of the preceding degree must be submitted by first-semester MS/PhD candidates.

There will be a quota system in place for the distribution of laptops as well; 5% will be set aside for students undertaking distance learning, while 18% will be designated for students at Balochistan’s public universities.

Virtual University will receive 2.5% of the total distance learning quota, while Allama Iqbal Open University will receive 2.5%.
Students who have previously graduated are not eligible to profit from the scheme, regardless of whether they applied while enrolled. Only presently enrolled students are eligible.

After an open and fair selection process, laptops will be given out according to departmental and degree program merit.
The Prime Minister’s Youth Programme (PMYP) website, www.pmyp.gov.pk, is now up and running, and students can sign up using the Prime Minister’s Digital Youth Hub (DYH) app.

Please submit your application as soon as possible.
After the preliminary merit list is released, there will be a 15-day period for any concerns or complaints to be voiced.
The final merit list will be issued after all issues have been addressed.

Beyond being a government program, the Fourth Phase of the Prime Minister’s Laptop Scheme represents investment in our students’ futures and a ray of hope for their present and future. It acknowledges that internet access is just as important as a classroom or textbook in the modern world.

The plan, which is the crown jewel of the prime minister’s office, is helping thousands of students, and the results are looking good so far. The government’s goal in giving laptops to worthy students is to help close the digital achievement gap, encourage creativity, and prepare the youth of today to take their place in the global workforce.

Transparency, efficiency, and selection based on merit are the key aspects being watched intently as the system is put into action.
An example of the government’s dedication to investing in the young of the country is the Young Laptop Scheme 2025, which was launched by the prime minister.

It is believed that the initiative will empower students to reach their maximum potential and contribute to Pakistan’s prosperity as it gains speed, leaving an enduring impression on the country’s educational system.
