Muzaffarabad (Hayat News) Hundreds of employees of the PWD Workers Union Azad Kashmir protested in the capital, Muzaffarabad. Former government ministers Pir Syed Murtaza Ali Gilani and Dr. Mustafa Bashir reached the protest camp. Murtaza Ali Gilani, while addressing the protesters at the protest camp, said that the demands of PWD employees are legitimate and rightful.
The Muslim League-N supports all the demands. The incompetent and corrupt government should fulfill the demands immediately. Azad Kashmir cannot afford chaos, protests, rallies, and processions. Before Eid, the secretary of the government had assured that the demands of PWD employees would be resolved, but it is a pity for those officers who take advantage of their privileges and protocol and do not stand up for the rights of small employees. The Muslim League-N is the protector of public rights. We will be your voice at every forum.
The demands of the protesters include upgradation of employees, risk allowance, utility allowance, permanent status of temporary employees, a 200 percent increase in salaries, rejection of pension reforms, implementation of the notification of a minimum salary of 37 thousand, payment of time scale, hard allowance, exemption from biometric attendance, overtime pay for public health employees and doser operators, danger allowance for all PWD employees, etc.
All demands should be met. Addressing the protest camp, Sardar Iftikhar Shaheen, Workers Union Azad Kashmir, said that small employees are the capital of the government and the department; because of them the departments and the government can have better governance. They are not asking the government for the treasury of the government for small employees; there are basic problems, and they should be solved immediately.
The officers of the department should raise their voices for the rights of small employees. Addressing the protest camp, PWD Muzaffarabad Chairman Nazakat Mughal, Secretary General Muhammad Irshad Awan, Central Secretary General Saeed Ahmed Qureshi, Raja Zameer Khan, Raja Ashfaq Khan, Mushtaq Mughal, Syed Sadaqat Shah, Zarar Ahmad Awan, Raja Saeed, Raja Ansar, and Sajid Mughal said that the employees protesting in the strike camp deserve congratulations as they demonstrated unity and solidarity. God willing, if unity and solidarity remain, no force can hinder us. Our leadership is sincere and employee-friendly, which we are proud of.
