Muzaffarabad, (Hayat News): Choudhry Nisar, Joint Secretary of the PPP in Greater London, UK, expressed deep admiration for Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto’s legacy, especially her vision for social welfare and women’s empowerment across Pakistan and Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK). During a significant meeting with Dr. Abdul Aziz Qurashi, Regional Director of the Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP) AJK, at the BISP central zonal office, Nisar emphasized BISP’s crucial role in realizing Bhutto’s dream of a more inclusive and caring society.

During his visit, Choudhry Nisar met directly with BISP beneficiaries in AJK, experiencing firsthand the program’s impact on vulnerable families within the region. Discussions with Dr. Qurashi underscored BISP’s ongoing efforts to support deserving families and uplift marginalized communities in AJK.

“As an overseas Pakistani, I am immensely proud of BISP’s efforts to uphold Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto’s vision,” Nisar shared. “Her commitment to a welfare-focused Pakistan was groundbreaking, and BISP stands as a testament to her dedication to social justice and women’s empowerment. By supporting financially vulnerable women across Pakistan, BISP is not only fulfilling her vision but also empowering women to be contributors to their families, communities, and society at large.”

He further commended Dr. Qurashi and the BISP team in AJK for their dedication to advancing Benazir Bhutto’s vision of a welfare-oriented state. “BISP is more than monetary help — it offers ladies the assets, preparing, and apparatuses to accomplish independence and become anchors of solidarity in their networks. This empowerment truly embodies Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto’s dream, and it’s inspiring to witness her legacy changing lives across Pakistan.”

Choudhry Nisar reaffirmed the PPP’s commitment to continue championing Bhutto’s vision, ensuring that BISP remains a driving force for positive change and a model of women’s empowerment in both Pakistan and AJK. The meeting concluded with a shared commitment to prioritize the welfare of the people in AJK, furthering BISP’s mission to create a meaningful impact for those most in need.
