Islamabad: Authorities have confirmed the arrest of suspects involved in a shocking assault on women near F-9 Park, which recently surfaced in a viral video. The Islamabad police announced on Sunday that the individuals had been taken into custody and are now in jail under judicial remand.
A statement posted on X by the Islamabad police detailed the swift response to the incident, which occurred last month. Law enforcement promptly registered a case and sought a three-day physical remand for the suspects. The court granted the request, after which the suspects were placed under judicial custody.
The disturbing footage, widely circulated on social media, shows a man attacking women in the vicinity of F-9 Park.
According to the FIR filed on February 23, the altercation took place when the suspect blocked a woman’s car as she and her daughters visited a McDonald’s outlet near the park. The complainant reported that after questioning the suspect about his parking, he and his accomplices launched a violent assault, dragging the women, pulling their hair, and attempting to steal their vehicle.
The incident has sparked outrage, with authorities assuring strict legal action against those responsible.
