The Muzaffarabad (Hayat) Food Authority continues to take action against milk vendors. Team Food Authority Muzaffarabad collected milk samples from milk vendors who brought milk from villages to the city and sold it at Bela Noor Shah and conducted laboratory analysis on the spot with the help of a mobile food testing lab.
In light of laboratory reports, a mixture of skimmed milk powder and water was found in the milk. It should be noted that skimmed milk powder (SMP) is used as an adulterant in various dairy products, such as adding SMP to fresh milk to increase its solid content, thus increasing profit margins.
Adulteration with SMP can affect the nutritional content, taste, and quality of milk products.
Which is harmful to human health. Heavy fines were imposed on milk sellers selling harmful milk, and the milk was destroyed on the spot. District Food Controller Abrar Ahmed Mir said that the actions of Team Food Authority Muzaffarabad against those selling poison in the name of white milk are continuing.
Action will be taken against those who play with human health under the Food Authority Act 2017 and the Food Pure Regulation Act 2019. Provision of quality and safe food is the top priority of the Food Authority, and for this purpose, the scope of the crackdown has been further expanded. We will ensure the supply of quality milk free from adulteration. Citizens should cooperate with the Food Authority and report any suspicious matter.
