ISLAMABAD (Hayat News): Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi has launched a long-awaited housing scheme for police welfare, marking the first such initiative in 25 years.

The project, named NPFD One Capital Park City, aims to improve living conditions for police officers, their families, and the families of martyrs. During the inauguration ceremony in Islamabad, Naqvi announced that plots would be allocated to police personnel, families of fallen officers, and those injured in service.

“This initiative ensures that our police officers, martyrs’ families, and the injured have the opportunity to own property,” Naqvi said, reaffirming the government’s commitment to police welfare under the National Police Foundation (NPF).

The minister personally distributed allotment letters to police employees from various provinces, commending their dedication and sacrifice. He highlighted the National Police Foundation’s success, led by Managing Director Sabir Ahmed, in generating profits to fund welfare projects.

Naqvi also emphasized ongoing efforts to secure adequate financial support for martyrs’ families and ensure proper care for injured officers.

Looking ahead, he announced plans for a joint venture between the NPF and the Capital Development Authority (CDA) to further benefit police personnel, prioritizing the families of martyrs and disabled officers.

The ceremony was attended by senior officials, including the Inspector General of Police for Punjab and Islamabad, and the Chief Commissioner of Islamabad, who praised the initiative as a significant step in supporting the police force.
