Mirpur (Hayat News) Deputy Commissioner Mirpur District Yasir Riaz has already imposed a ban on going near rivers and canals and bathing near Mangla Dam under Section 144 CrPC in the entire district in view of the prediction of heavy rains and flooding in rivers and canals during the recent monsoon rains.
But it has been observed that in suburban/remote areas, young people/children take bath by going to rivers, canals and dams and due to the rapid flow of water, precious lives are lost by drowning in the water.
For this reason, during the monsoon season, special arrangements have been made to prevent people from going near rivers and dams. The police and magistrates have been instructed to form special teams related to their respective institutions within the limits of Mirpur district so that they can timely prevent the public/youth from going near water and bathing near rivers and dams.
