The military’s media wing stated that the drones were apparently sent to spread panic among the public. However, Pakistan’s defense systems successfully neutralized them using a combination of “soft kill” and “hard kill” counter-drone techniques.
Although the drones were intercepted, falling debris caused injuries to two children in Quetta, while one civilian each was hurt in Kohat and Rawalpindi.
In its statement, the ISPR said the attacks were meant to instill fear among Pakistani citizens and reflected what it described as the militant mindset of the Afghan Taliban. The statement further alleged that while the group portrays itself as a victim internationally to gain sympathy, it simultaneously targets civilians through proxies and drone attacks.
The military spokesperson added that the people of Pakistan and its armed forces are fully aware of the intentions of the armed group currently governing Afghanistan.
ISPR reaffirmed that Pakistan’s military campaign, Operation Ghazab‑ul‑Haq, would continue until the Afghan Taliban addresses Islamabad’s concerns regarding militant activities originating from Afghan territory.
Pakistan’s armed forces, the statement concluded, remain determined to counter terrorism in all its forms and will continue safeguarding the country’s citizens against threats, including drone attacks.
