Field Marshal Asim Munir Oversees Induction and Firepower Display at Multan Garrison
RAWALPINDI: The Pakistan Army has formally inducted the advanced Z-10ME attack helicopters into its aviation corps, marking a significant step in its ongoing modernization efforts. Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Field Marshal Asim Munir led the induction ceremony during his visit to Multan Garrison, according to a statement released by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) on Saturday.
The Z-10ME is a next-generation, all-weather attack helicopter equipped with sophisticated radar and electronic warfare systems. Its capability for precision strikes both day and night is expected to enhance Pakistan Army’s operational effectiveness against a broad range of aerial and ground threats.
As part of the induction event, Field Marshal Munir observed a live firepower demonstration at Muzaffargarh Field Firing Ranges, showcasing the helicopter’s advanced combat capabilities.
“The addition of the Z-10ME significantly strengthens Army Aviation’s battlefield support, enabling swift, integrated, and decisive responses in complex combat environments,” ISPR noted.
During his visit, the army chief also interacted with troops, praising their high morale, professionalism, and tactical skills. He commended the execution of integrated arms maneuvers, underscoring the Army’s commitment to maintaining operational superiority amid evolving warfare dynamics.
Field Marshal Munir was also briefed on the formation’s combat readiness and ongoing training programs. Expressing confidence in the troops’ preparedness, he acknowledged the force’s commitment to excellence.
Later, in a session with members of academia and civil society, the COAS emphasized the importance of national cohesion, civil-military harmony, and a unified national approach to effectively counter hybrid warfare challenges and reinforce internal stability.
