The Inland Revenue Department collected a total tax revenue of more than Rs 70 billion, of which the South Zone collected about Rs 57 billion while the North Zone collected a revenue of more than Rs 13 billion. The Inland Revenue Department of the Government of Azad Jammu and Kashmir not only achieved the tax targets given for the financial year 2024-2025 but also created a new history by exceeding them by a large margin.
According to a detailed press release issued by the spokesperson of the Inland Revenue Department, the Inland Revenue Department was given a total tax target of Rs 69 billion by the Government of Azad Jammu and Kashmir for the financial year 2024-2025, in response to which the Inland Revenue Department collected a total tax revenue of more than Rs 70 billion, which is a historic achievement.
These include notable revenues such as income tax, sales tax, federal excise duty, and withholding taxes, etc. According to the data, the South Zone of the department collected Rs 57 billion, while the North Zone collected Rs 13 billion. According to the spokesperson, the South Zone collected 81 percent of the allocated annual target, while 19 percent was met by the North Zone. Regarding the performance of the South Zone, the spokesperson said that in the last financial year, 2023-2024, a tax revenue of Rs. 49 billion was collected, compared to which, during the current financial year, the South Zone collected a total revenue of more than Rs. 57 billion, with an increase of Rs. 8 billion, which is 16% more than the previous year.

In this regard, Commissioner Inland Revenue (South Zone), Mirpur Division, Syed Ansar Ali, said in a statement that this success is the result of the joint efforts of our entire team, better planning, and tax networking based on modern principles.
