Mirpur (Hayat News) On the special instructions of the Secretary of the Food Authority, a spectacular operation was carried out by the Azad Jammu and Kashmir Food Authority Mirpur at Mangla checkpost early in the morning. During the operation, a large quantity of hazardous, substandard, and expired food was seized and destroyed on the spot.
According to the Food Authority spokesperson, the items seized and destroyed included 25 to 30 packets of snacks, 2 kg of candy, 30 liters of raw milk, 20 kg of edible fat, 15 kg of by-products, 50 kg of raw meat, 30 kg of pie meat, 8 kg of expired bakery items, and 15 kg of fish.
The total value of these items is approximately Rs 210,000. Furthermore, 13 food business operators were fined a total of Rs 145,000 for violating the rules.
Food Safety Officer Adnan Ali Naqvi, Food Safety Officer Nazma Akram, Food Analyst Muhammad Jalil, Assistant Food Safety Officer Asif Riaz, Mudassar, and other officials participated in this operation. The Food Authority says that the zero tolerance policy against those who play with the health of the public will continue and strict action against such elements will continue without interruption in the future.
