BEIJING (Hayat News): Pakistan and China on Tuesday renewed their resolve to further deepen their all-weather strategic cooperative partnership, underscoring the unique and enduring nature of their bilateral ties.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif met Chinese President Xi Jinping at the Great Hall of the People, where both leaders emphasized that Pakistan-China relations were unparalleled and must be reflected in greater collaboration across multiple sectors.
The two leaders also exchanged views on key regional and global issues, agreeing to maintain close coordination at all levels.
Prime Minister Shehbaz reiterated Pakistan’s strong commitment to the successful rollout of the next phase of the upgraded China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), including its five new development corridors. He also congratulated President Xi on the successful hosting of the SCO Council of Heads of State Summit in Tianjin and extended felicitations on the 80th anniversary of the World’s Anti-Fascist War.
Commending President Xi’s transformational leadership, Prime Minister Shehbaz said Pakistan was proud of China’s progress and modernization journey, vowing to stand shoulder to shoulder with Beijing in advancing shared goals.
He thanked China for its consistent support for Pakistan’s sovereignty, territorial integrity, and socio-economic progress, noting that CPEC — as the flagship project of the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) — symbolizes the strength of the Pakistan-China partnership and their shared future.
The prime minister also welcomed President Xi’s strong backing for multilateralism, highlighting Pakistan’s support for China’s Global Governance Initiative, Global Development Initiative, Global Security Initiative, and Global Civilization Initiative — all aimed at promoting global peace, stability, and collective prosperity.
President Xi assured that China would continue assisting Pakistan in its economic growth, particularly as the second phase of CPEC prioritizes Pakistan’s most vital economic sectors.
Concluding the meeting, Prime Minister Shehbaz extended a warm invitation to President Xi to visit Pakistan next year, coinciding with the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries.
