Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Sunday expressed deep concern over a shooting incident that disrupted the White House Correspondents’ Association Dinner in Washington, D.C.

In a statement shared on social media, the premier said he was “deeply shocked” by the incident, which occurred during the high-profile gathering attended by Donald Trump and Melania Trump. The event was briefly thrown into chaos when a gunman opened fire, leading to an immediate evacuation of attendees.
Following the incident, President Trump confirmed via his platform that the suspect had been taken into custody. He added that the First Lady, JD Vance, and other cabinet members were unharmed.
Prime Minister Shehbaz expressed relief upon learning that all key participants were safe. He extended his prayers and best wishes to President Trump, hoping for his continued safety and well-being in the aftermath of the alarming episode.
