A DNA report has verified that the human remains recovered from Edhi Cemetery belong to Mustafa Amir, a BBA student who went missing in January and was allegedly murdered, Express News reported.

The charred remains were initially discovered inside a burned car near the Hub checkpost on January 12 and were later buried by the Edhi Foundation on January 16. On Friday, a three-member medical board, under the supervision of a judicial magistrate, exhumed the body for identification.

Following confirmation of the body’s identity, the remains were handed over to Mustafa Amir’s family. His funeral is scheduled to take place after Asr prayers today (Sunday) at Masjid-e-Ali, Main Khayaban-e-Muhafiz, Phase VI, DHA.

Meanwhile, police have detained four individuals, including the son of a well-known TV actor. During the investigation, the arrested suspects were taken to the Dariji area, where they confirmed the location where the car was set on fire.

The case is unfolding with new developments daily. Among those taken into custody is the son of actor Sajid Hassan, who was allegedly found in possession of drugs. Police have launched an operation against drug-related activities, with Sajid Hassan’s son also being questioned about his connection to Mustafa Amir and the prime suspect, Armaghan.

DIG CIA Muqaddas Haider stated that the AVCC team took the accused, Shiraz and Armaghan, to the Dariji police station limits in Balochistan, where they pointed out the site where the vehicle was torched. Hub Police investigators and the victim’s relatives were also present during the investigation.

Additionally, a police report submitted to Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) No. 3 on Saturday detailed Armaghan’s alleged confession regarding the torture of a girl named Zuma a day before Mustafa Amir’s murder.

Forensic tests were conducted on five blood swabs and four carpet pieces from Armaghan’s bungalow. One carpet contained Mustafa Amir’s blood, while two others had traces of an unidentified girl’s blood. Armaghan admitted to assaulting Zuma in the same room where Mustafa Amir was held. Authorities are now working to locate Zuma for her testimony and DNA sampling.

Meanwhile, an ATC on Saturday extended the physical remand of Armaghan and Shiraz by five days. The investigating officer requested the extension, stating that further interrogation was necessary to advance the case.
