Speaking to reporters, Trump confirmed the execution would go ahead via firing squad, adding that a determination on the live broadcast was still being made.
Vice President JD Vance, meanwhile, expressed uncertainty about the Pentagon’s plans. He said he did not know whether the livestream would actually happen — and that he would not watch it even if it did.
The Pentagon had earlier announced that the Fort Hood convict would be executed by firing squad on December 3 and that the execution would be broadcast live.
Hasan was sentenced for the 2009 shooting at the Fort Hood military base in Texas, in which 13 people were killed and 32 others were wounded.
