Speaking at a press conference, he commended the swift response of law enforcement agencies, noting that their timely action averted what could have been a major catastrophe. He expressed appreciation for the forces for capturing the suspect alive.
Bugti raised concern over militant groups exploiting women in the province, warning that such actions undermine societal values and respect for women. He also pointed to growing attempts to radicalize Baloch youth, calling the trend alarming.
He said residents of Balochistan were actively supporting the authorities by sharing critical information, which has strengthened security efforts across the province. Emphasizing the dignity and pride of the Baloch people, he remarked that they were being drawn into a conflict that serves no meaningful purpose.
The chief minister added that matters involving women would be handled by the women’s police, ensuring appropriate procedures.
During the briefing, the detained woman, identified as Laiba from Khuzdar, recounted her experience. She said she had been recruited and influenced by a militant commander linked to Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan, identified as Ibrahim, who allegedly convinced her to take part in a suicide attack.
Laiba stated she had undergone training for the mission and had also been instructed to recruit other young women for similar activities. However, she was arrested before carrying out the plan. She urged others to avoid falling into such networks.
Bugti said her case highlights how extremist elements are targeting and exploiting women for violent purposes. He further alleged that neighboring Afghanistan has become a refuge for militant groups, while stressing that the people of Balochistan reject terrorism.
He maintained that steering youth towards extremism contradicts Baloch traditions and values, adding that the province is being pushed toward an unnecessary conflict under misleading narratives.
Responding to a question, Bugti said recent actions by security forces have contributed to an improved law and order situation in the region.
