CM Maryam Nawaz orders strict enforcement at weddings and public events
Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has directed authorities to launch a province-wide crackdown on violations of the one-dish policy at wedding functions and the misuse of loudspeakers.
The directives were issued on Saturday during a meeting chaired by the chief minister, where she instructed all commissioners and deputy commissioners to ensure firm implementation of the one-dish rule throughout Punjab.
Maryam Nawaz further ordered strict action against loud music at weddings and other gatherings, calling for legal proceedings against those using loudspeakers without permission.
She also directed officials to regulate loudspeaker use at farmhouses and open-air venues in the same manner as marriage halls, stressing that no exceptions would be allowed.
The meeting reaffirmed that the one-dish policy must be enforced uniformly across the province. Officials were also told to strictly monitor marriage halls to ensure they adhere to designated operating hours.
The chief minister added that government officers must not attend any wedding or event that violates the one-dish rule or loudspeaker regulations.
