Mirpur (Hayat News) Former Chairman of the Education Board, Mirpur and candidate for the Assembly Constituency LA-3, Mirpur, Professor Muhammad Afzal Mirza said that the assassination of the leader of the people, Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto, was the assassination of the people’s progress and prosperity, but thanks to the eternal struggle and sacrifices of the leader of the people, Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto for the nation and democracy, he is still alive in the hearts of the people.
Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto was a great leader not only of Pakistan but also of the world, who brought various reforms in the country, gave the country a unified constitution, his launch of the nuclear program, which is the basis of Pakistan’s defense force today, is a sign of how far-sighted he was, and provided a green passport to the rich, reforms for the development of the poor were possible thanks to him, Bhutto worked for the rights of the people and their betterment in his political life. His slogan “Bread, Cloth and House” was an example of highlighting the problems of the people and raising his voice for their rights. This slogan still resonates in the hearts of the people today.
His efforts to restore democracy and Bhutto’s words that “My execution is the execution of democracy” are a sign that he dedicated his life to the struggle for democracy. However, due to martial law and political instability in the country, the development of democracy has always been an obstacle.
He expressed these views while addressing a ceremony held on the occasion of the death anniversary of Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto. On this occasion, PPP Azad Kashmir Central Coordination Secretary Aamir Zishan Jaral, Raja Zulfikar Zulfi, Zakaullah Joshi, Mirza Mukhtar Ahmed, Muhammad Bashir Chohan, Raja Azhar Riaz, Shaukat Ali and others also spoke.
Professor Muhammad Afzal Mirza said that all political leaders including the country’s highest judiciary have accepted that the decision to assassinate Zulfikar Ali Bhutto was wrong. He said that the sacrifices of the Bhutto family for the development and democracy of this country are not hidden from anyone.
Today, PPP workers are determined to carry forward the mission and vision of Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto and will spare no effort in conveying his philosophy to the people. He said that fair and timely elections are necessary for the construction, development and prosperity of the country. Our country, Pakistan, is blessed with every blessing bestowed by Allah, but due to internal and external conspiracies and political instability, we are far from enjoying these blessings.
On this occasion, prayers were offered for the speedy recovery of President of Pakistan Asif Ali Zardari.
