ISLAMABAD (Hayat News): Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mohammad Ishaq Dar on Sunday criticized Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s (PTI) repeated calls for protests, labeling them a deliberate attempt to harm the country’s reputation.
In an official statement, Dar expressed disappointment over PTI’s planned protest in Islamabad on November 24. He highlighted the unfortunate timing of these demonstrations, coinciding with significant visits by global leaders and dignitaries.
He noted that similar protests were held on October 14, during the visit of the Chinese Premier, and on October 15-16, when heads of government from the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) attended a high-level event hosted by Pakistan. Dar further pointed out that Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko is scheduled for an official visit on Monday, with Belarusian ministers and a business delegation arriving today.
The DPM/FM urged PTI leadership to prioritize national interests over political agendas, emphasizing the importance of preserving the country’s global standing.
