Islamabad (Hayat News) – The High Court has stayed the repatriation of 18 Afghan nationals and issued notices to the Ministry of Interior, NADAR, DG Immigration, FIA and police, seeking their response.

Chief Justice Sarfaraz Dogar issued a written order on the petition of the Afghan nationals. Advocates Adil Aziz Qazi and others appeared in the court on behalf of the petitioners during the hearing. According to the court order, the government on August 4 cancelled the POR cards of the petitioners and ordered their return.

According to the lawyer, the petitioners belong to the family of the late Fazlur Rehman, who had applied for citizenship in 2008 after fulfilling all the legal requirements.

According to the lawyer, no decision has been taken on the citizenship application yet. The court directed the parties to submit their respective comments at the next hearing and ordered that any action against the petitioners be stayed. The next hearing of the case is scheduled for September 18, 2025.
