Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Ishaq Dar has arrived in Beijing for a series of official engagements with senior Chinese leaders, a Foreign Office spokesperson confirmed.
During the visit, Mr Dar met Chinese diplomat Liu Haixing and extended congratulations on the successful holding of the 20th Central Committee meeting of the Communist Party of China. The meeting featured in-depth exchanges on the evolving regional landscape as well as ongoing initiatives under the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC).
Both sides voiced satisfaction with the depth and strength of Pakistan-China relations and reiterated their resolve to further expand cooperation across multiple sectors. They also agreed to jointly mark the 75th anniversary of diplomatic ties between the two countries in an appropriate and meaningful manner.
A range of events and commemorative activities are scheduled throughout 2026, with Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar expected to take part in several of them.
As part of his visit, Mr Dar will also co-chair the 7th Pakistan-China Strategic Dialogue, where discussions will focus on party-to-party contacts, regional developments, and a review of progress on CPEC and other economic cooperation projects.
