In a message shared on Truth Social, Trump thanked Pakistan and praised both Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Chief of Army Staff Asim Munir, describing them as “fantastic people” for their role in facilitating dialogue.
Trump characterized the development as a positive moment globally, highlighting Pakistan’s contribution to diplomatic efforts that helped de-escalate the crisis. He also acknowledged the support of regional allies such as Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, and Qatar for their assistance during the situation.
Regarding the Strait of Hormuz, Trump stated that Iran had assured it would not shut the crucial maritime route again. He added that operations were underway, with US backing, to clear sea mines and ensure safe passage through the waterway. However, he noted that the US naval blockade on Iran would remain in place until negotiations are formally concluded, indicating that talks are approaching their final stages.
Separately, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi also expressed appreciation for Pakistan’s role. In a message addressed to Prime Minister Sharif and Field Marshal Munir, he thanked them for their continued efforts to help bring an end to the regional conflict.
