Srinagar: NIA attaches house in LeT terror conspiracy caseکشمیر
The NIA says it has attached a Srinagar property in Danihama under the UAPA, alleging it sheltered suspected LeT terrorists in a cross-border conspiracy case.

India’s National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Monday attached a residential property in Srinagar that was allegedly used to shelter suspected terrorists linked to the banned Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) outfit, according to the agency.
The property, located at Khasra No. 315 in Danihama village of the Hazratbal area on the outskirts of Srinagar, belongs to accused Ghulam Mohammad Mir, also known as Mama Gas, the agency said in a statement. It was attached in connection with case RC-02/2026/NIA/JMU, which relates to an alleged cross-border terrorist conspiracy involving LeT.
According to the NIA, the attachment was carried out under Section 25 of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act, 1967, after obtaining the requisite prior approval of the agency’s Director General.
“The investigation has established a direct nexus between the property and the terrorist conspiracy, as the premises were allegedly used for harbouring Pakistani terrorists and concealing incriminating material connected with the terror network,” an NIA official said, as reported by The Tribune.

Case background

The case was originally registered as FIR No. 24/2026 on March 31 this year at Zakoora Police Station in Srinagar, and was subsequently taken over and re-registered by the NIA.
According to the agency, its investigation has uncovered an alleged network of local overground workers (OGWs) operating in coordination with Pakistan-based LeT handlers to facilitate the infiltration, movement, shelter and logistical support of suspected Pakistani terrorists for attacks on security forces, government establishments and civilians.
During a search operation conducted at Mir’s residential premises in Danihama on April 6, investigators detected two suspected Pakistani terrorists, identified as Abu Huraira and Khubaib, who were allegedly associated with LeT, the agency said. An explosive-like substance, digital devices and other incriminating material were also recovered and seized from the premises, according to the NIA.

Probe continues

The agency said its probe revealed that the accused had knowingly provided his house as a safe shelter for the suspected terrorists and allowed the property to be used for facilitating their activities.
The NIA added that the investigation is continuing to identify and expose the wider alleged terror-support network, including other overground workers, facilitators and individuals linked to Pakistan-based handlers. Further developments in the case are expected as the investigation proceeds, officials said.
